Shisha Gumbad
Shisha Gumbad, standing gloriously in the pages of history flaunting the presence of Lodhi Dynasty over Delhi and India.
There exist two patterns in the tomb; Square and Octagonal. This tomb and Bara-Gumbad to its south,are square on plan .
With its facade divided horizontally by a string course and with series of sunk niches running above and below it .Its western wall is provided with a Mihrab(Arc),which served as a Mosque while the other sides have a central entrance set in a projecting frame
Its name, meaning a Dome of Glass.

There are several graves inside it, but the names of the persons buried here are not known.The tomb was, however, built during Sikandar Lodi's reign (1489-1517).
The site is now protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

A walk through the history
The foundation of Lodhi dynasty was laid by Bahlul Khan Lodi when he put an end to the Sayyid dynasty.They ruled Delhi sultanate from 1451-1526.He conquest the throne of Jaipur and made his eldest son Barbak, the ruler of Jaipur.
In 1489, Sikandar Lodi was crowned and titled as Sikandar Shah;emperor of Lodhi dynasty .He founded Agra and also made Agra new capital by replacing Delhi.His greatest achievement was the conquest and annexation of Bihar.
Ibrahim Lodhi the youngest son of Sikandar Lodi was the last successor of Lodhi dynasty .He was defeated by the Rana Sanga of Rajputana in the First Battel of Panipat.His death was the fall of Lodhi dynasty; the rise of Mughal Empire.
