Dhanaulti Through My Lens

 Dhanaulti,Serene Forests

Dhanaulti is a small and popular hill station situated between the Mussoorie and Chamba. It is situated at an altitude of 2286m and is know for its quite environs amidst the alpine forests of Deodar , Rhododendron, and Oak.The latest addition to this beautiful place is Dhanolti Eco Park. A novel initiative spearheaded by a visionary Forest Department Official is a joint initiative of the State Forest Department and the local community of Dhanolti. The outcome of this venture is a beautiful and much needed recreational park, which is one of its kind and a benchmark for much more to come in Uttarakhand and probably in the country. No roller coasters, no bumping cars, no noisy rides, but lush green surroundings, a wide variety of swings for kids, beautiful walking tracks, nice corners and sitting spaces, clean public washrooms and also a few soft adventure activities like Burma Bridge and Flying Fox.

Here are some of my best clicks from Dhanaulti.

Dhanaulti and my story:

The snow was veiled to me, until now. I was so enthusiastic about the snow. The only reason for taking a road trip to Dhanaulti was to see the snow.It was a glorious day, the temperature was 19-18 degrees, the blue sky was overhead. For me, it was a great disappointment for the whole time I was wondering about playing with the snow but there was not even a possibility for snow .It was a hot day.The town was all most empty only a few tourist and natives there , it was pacific, you and the mother nature.I've spent my day exploring the whole town , it was full of gratification. As per food , the food was really simple and earthly ,they also have Chula(hearth made up of clay mud) for making chapati (bread) and those chapatis have totally different flavor. Well, the night starts getting young , the entire forecast was changed. The sky was full of clouds, the bright moon was lurking behind the clouds.Everyone was eagerly waiting for the first snowflake. The time was 11:15 pm and the temperature was dropped to -7 degrees , the snowfall begins. I was flummoxed by nature. I remember every single person was howling and dancing in the glee. The town was covered with the pure ivory sheet.
