Kamakhya, the bleeding goddess
Kamakhya temple is the ancient and unique astrological temple, which is situated in Guwahati.The temple is dedicated to Kamakhya Devi, the goddess of desires.It is primary amongst the 52 Shakti Peethas.
The temple annually celebrates the fertility festival called Ambuwasi Puja in the month of June when sun transit to the zodiac of Mithuna.It is believed that the Devi Kamakhya goes through her annual cycle of mensuration during this festival.
